The Terms and Conditions below are contractual statements governing the business relationship between Wonders Of Yunnan Travel and its clients. The receipt of your deposit and/or final payment will indicate that you or/and your travel agent have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Thus it is extremely important that our clients understand and accept them as guidelines of our services.

Billing Info & Payment Methods

Deposit & Final payment - A deposit which is equal to 30% of the total tour price is required at the time of confirmation. The full or final payment shall be done latest 15 days prior to the first tour day or the first day on which travel services are provided. Should the tour be booked within 15 days before departure of your tour, full payment is required. (If the whole tour is within Yunnan, final payment can also be paid upon your arrival by cash, but 30% deposit is still required at the time of booking).

Methods of Payment - For our clients' convenience, Wonders Of Yunnan Travel accepts various payment methods including bank wire transfer and via PayPal (with or without PayPal accounts). You can choose the method(s) you prefer. When you are issuing an international payment, the amount charged from your bank or credit card is according to the current exchange rate of the respective day. Deviation in amounts caused by banking services and/or exchange rates  are not the responsibility of Wonders Of Yunnan Travel but are always for buyer's account. Please see more information in our Payment Guide.

Wonders Of Yunnan Travel quotes tour prices in US Dollars on its web site and quotes in Chinese RMB and/or US Dollars in its tailor-made itineraries when customers make tour and/or travel service bookings.

Cancellation Procedure

We would deeply regret your decision to cancel your trip to Yunnan and China, however we realize that there are many valid reasons that this can happen. In the event of a cancellation after having paid already, we will refund the payments made to Wonders Of Yunnan Travel within 15 days upon receipt of your written cancellation via email less the cancellation fee that is applicable as follows:

  • Cancellation received more than 30 days prior to tour start:    10% of the total tour price.
  • Cancellation received from 15 to 30 days prior to tour start:    20% of the total tour price.
  • Cancellation received from 8 to 14 days prior to tour start:      30% of the total tour price.
  • Cancellation received from 4 to 7 days prior to tour start:        50% of the total tour price.  
  • Cancellation received from 0 to 3 days prior to tour start:      100% of the total tour price.
  • No-show travelers will be charged 100% of the total tour price.

Besides the cancellation fee from Wonders Of Yunnan Travel, penalties from airlines or train companies may apply if air or train tickets were issued. Especially during weekends, holidays and outside of our office hours customers are obligated to additionally inform Wonders Of Yunnan Travel by phone so that the cancellation can be made effective right away.

If the party wishes to substitute a traveler by another one, this will be treated as a cancellation and the previous fees are subject to apply. 

Once the trip has started, Wonders Of Yunnan Travel is no longer able to provide any refunds to the party for any reason.

PayPal is the easiest method for Wonders Of Yunnan Travel to use to refund your travel fees and if you need to be refunded, please provide us your PayPal email and we will set up the process to transfer refunds to your account. If you do not have a PayPal account, it is very easy for you to register for one. Just go to the official site of PayPal at www.paypal.com. But depending on the amount to be refunded and due to transfer fees it might make sense to remit the money back via bank wire transfer or Western Union.

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking (i.e. deposit payment) are happily processed free of charge. Alterations after payment of the deposit will attract a fee of $25.00 per request. All expenses incurred by Wonders Of Yunnan Travel in alteration of the booking are the responsibility of the customer. This includes all fees and charges levied by third parties such as - but not limited to - airlines and hotels.

Travel Documents: Passports and Visa

When entering into China, all clients are required to have a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. We accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation. Please contact your local Chinese embassy or consulate fur current rules and regulations. If you chose to go to Tibet it is necessary to get a tour invitation letter from travel agents. Moreover, a travel permit is a must. If you want to stay in China longer than your visa is valid for please contact a local PSB (Public Security Office) for a visa extension application.

Safety & Travel Insurance

Please listen to and respect your guides at all times. Please pay particular notice to any safety announcements at all times. While Wonders of Yunnan Travel takes all precautions possible to make your trip a safe and unique experience, we accept no responsibility for loss or injury caused by your failure to adhere to the safety guidelines. According to Chinese law Wonders Of Yunnan Travel includes a basic travel accident insurance for each tour. It is highly recommend though that customers additionally purchase a full coverage travel insurance from their home country to ensure an international insurance standard. WorldNomads travel insurance for example is simple and flexible. One can buy, extend and claim online, even after going travelling abroad. Travel insurance from WorldNomads is available to people from over 140 countries. It’s designed for adventurous travellers with cover for overseas medical, evacuation, baggage and a range of adventure sports and activities.

Health Requirements

Clients should take into account all international travel risks and familiarize themselves with health requirements applicable to the areas they intend to visit. The client is solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of governments in countries visited or transited. Travelers to Tibet are required to provide a doctor's certificate stating that the he/she is fit to travel and his/her blood pressure and heart condition are normal. This is a necessary requirement because of the possible effects that the very high altitude may have on certain people. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel happily assists clients to deal with health issues of such kind, but does not take responsibility for any health incidents.

Luggage Allowance

Luggage allowance differs from airline to airline and also depends on the travel category chosen. In accordance with regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the free baggage allowance within China usually is 20kg for the economy class, 30kg for the business class, and 40kg for the first class, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of the client. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.

Meals

Meals include in the tour itinerary are indicated at the end of each day's program as: (B) for breakfast, (L) for lunch and (D) for dinner, Breakfasts are Western or Chinese according to the hotels chosen; Lunches and dinners are Chinese if not booked explicitly. Vegetarian or any other 'special' food must also be booked at the time the tour is booked.

Hotels

Accommodation is provided in 3-5 star hotels with private facilities. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, the substituted hotel will be of equivalent standard to those shown. Please note that throughout China it is standard policy that hotel rooms are usually not available for check-in before 12:00pm.

Airlines

As for domestic air carriers in China, Wonders Of Yunnan Travel uses a variety of reputable airlines, such as China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Air China, China Airlines, etc. depending on the customer's destination and arrival/departure city. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel selects the carrier that offers best connections and prices. Discount air tickets are usually available, during peak travel periods, it may be necessary to request full payment for flight tickets.

Taxes and Tips

Taxes for all travel services Wonders Of Yunnan Travel provides are included in the quotations. Tips to tour guides, drivers, hotel waiters, chambermaids and porters are not included.

Complaints and Claims

Shall the customers feel unsatisfied with any service Wonders Of Yunnan Travel has provided, they are kindly asked to notify their tour guide or Wonders Of Yunnan Travel directly to clarify the problem and avoid further incidents during the same trip. In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, Wonders Of Yunnan Travel must be informed in written by email, regular mail, or facsimile latest within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiations must be attached to the letter of claim. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of the tour.

Liability and Responsibility

Wonders Of Yunnan Travel shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to person or property, alteration of itineraries or cancellation in part or in full, caused by climatic conditions, sea fire, breakdown of machinery or equipment, acts of government or other authorities, wars whether or not declared, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, terrorist activities, or any other actions, omissions or conditions beyond the control of Wonders Of Yunnan Travel. Neither Wonders Of Yunnan Travel nor any of its affiliates or subsidiaries shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses of liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of any of the afore mentioned causes. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel shall not be responsible for any wrongful or negligent or fraudulent, omissions, changes of itinerary, cancellation or the failure of any equipment operated by any suppliers such as transportation carriers, cruise, hotels, or any other party not directly owned or controlled by Wonders Of Yunnan Travel. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel cannot be held responsible for a client's failure to comply with customs regulations. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel is not responsible for the theft or lost of any customer's valuables or items of personal property due to the negligence of the customer. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel reserves the right to substitute hotels, flights, or cruise ships to alter itineraries, or to cancel the tour prior to departure. If Wonders Of Yunnan Travel has to cancel any tour prior to the commencement of the tour, Wonders Of Yunnan Travel is liable for a full refund of the money received by its customers. Many of Wonders Of Yunnan Travel's tour packages include activities which require care attention. Such activities include boarding and going ashore from boats, climbing hills and entering and exiting tombs and caves etc. You will receive help and advice from our representatives but all activities are undertaken at the customer's own risk. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel, its employees and agents cannot be held responsible for any action or event that occurs after its said employees and agents have exercised their duty and taken the necessary care. Wonders Of Yunnan Travel reserves the right to modify or rescind the terms and conditions in whole, or in part at any time with or without notice.
