Puzhehei is a little town surrounded by an amazing area composed of a very unique karst landscape. Located a bit off the beaten track of Yunnan's main travel destinations, Puzhehei is especially worth a visit during summer when colorful lotus flowers cover lakes and rivers. Let us get you there!

Dianchi Lake, located just southwest of Kunming City, was known to be not the cleanest. To improve the water quality, numerous wetlands have been created along its shoreline. They're  good for the environment and also offer a beautiful and peaceful scenery for visits just outside the city!

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" P.B.Shelley once wrote these lines in one of his poems. In big parts of Yunnan, this can be answered with a clear 'No!'. The cooler days are over and during this season, colorful flowers are in bloom all over. These are the most famous ones.

A visit to the Hani Rice Terraces of Yuanyang is best during winter months and in early spring (about November to February). It's especially the fascinating sunrises and sunsets turning this area into a popular destination. Filled with water, the fields resemble millions of natural mirrors!

It's Spring Festival soon in China (Jan.27 - Feb.2) and after that, the rapeseed flowers in Luoping gradually start to bloom. As every year, this is a perfect opportunity for photography enthusiasts, getting a glimpse of Yunnan's colorful countryside during this short period of time.

Autumn is slowly turning into winter in Yunnan but there is still a good chance to get good views of colorful Gingko trees. We reported about the best spots in Kunming already last month, we today introduce another place, famous for these trees: the Ginko Village in Tengchong County.

Yunnan is specifically interesting for photographers. Our photography tours throughout Yunnan are of course best when specific areas of interest are most spectacular, like the blooming of the Luoping Rapeseed Flowers during spring time. Visit Yunnan now to witness the colorful cherry blossom!

As already outlined in our latest newsletter (see below), autumn is a great time to visit Yunnan. Additionally to loads of sunshine and blue skies, especially the yellow leaves of the Gingko trees produce a colorful scenery in the parks and gardens of Kunming. Take a stroll and bring your camera!
