Wifi and mobile phones are widely spread all over China. Most of the hotels, bars and restaurants offer their guests free usage of their wireless internet (wifi). A well developed mobile network ensures a reliable reception almost everywhere, also in rural areas.

Prepaid SIM cards for mobile phones can be bought at phone shops as China Mobile, China Telecom or China Unicom. Present your passport, choose your preferred telephone number and pay the fee you want to have the card topped-up with.
